Tommaso Franceschi
Tommaso Franceschi was born in Florence on 27/09/1979 by a family of architects
The first contact with golf is thanks to the parents who entered in the Golf Club Tirrenia in 1985 and the passion for this sport was born immediately. Start playing early and participate in youth tournaments throughout Italy, after a few victories and good placings is included in the Brevetti Giovanili (first step for the national team) but after a year an accident will keep him away from the fields for a long time so failing to be selected for the national team.
Exceeded the age of 18 he finds himself in front of the choice between golf and study and chooses the study and entered at the University of Architecture in Florence.
During the years of university continues to participate in golf tournaments, the best experience will remain the national foursome championship of 2002 in Rapallo played together with Alessio Bruschi where they were defeated in the semifinals for 4/3 by the Molinari brothers.
In 2007, after graduating in Architecture, he entered his father’s studio where he began work opportunities for the construction of golf courses and the restyling of existing courses. It is at this moment that the two great passions Golf and Architecture had a contact. The skills are recognized and in 2010 also begins a collaboration, which still lasts, with Arch. Alvise Rossi Fioravanti and Baldovino Dassù participating in various projects and restyling of courses.
In 2013 he was a project consultant, in collaboration with Dott. Paolo Croce, for the 9 to 18 holes extension of the Casentino Golf Club.
In 2014, the first direct assignment for the construction of a new golf facility, the Golf Club Livorno became in 2017 the pilot project of the City Golf.
In 2018 the collaboration with Arch. Jeremy Pern.
In 2018 he was appointed by CONI as Regional Technical Assistant for Sports Facilities.
From 2018 is teacher at Scuola Nazionale di Golf with the lesson “Golf Course Architecture”.
In 2019 he was appointed by Federazione Italiana Golf as technical adviser.
In 2020 begins the design of the first golf course in Montenegro, the Brskovo Golf Club
In 2022 the executive design of the new 6 holes of the Le Miniere Golf Club in Cavriglia
Umberto Franceschi
Umberto Franceschi graduated in architecture in Florence with honors in 1977 and approached for the first time to golf in 1985. The passion for this sport goes beyond the game and begins the commitment in the golf world with the participation before on the board of directors of the Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club of Tirrenia and then be president of the same club for two terms and in the same period he joined the council of the Tuscan Golf Committee.
The passion for golf, combined with the profession of architect, led him to deepen his studies on the design of structures dedicated to the game of golf and began designing new fields and restyling existing structures.
In 2014 he is part of the promoter committee of the 2022 Ryder Cup which ends with the assignment to Italy of the most important international golf event.
Today he works in the studio with his son Tommaso and collaborates with well-known professionals in the field, Arch. Alvise Rossi Fioravanti, Dott. Paolo Croce and Jeremy Pern
